Get Ready for Wildfire

CalFireRemoveTrees“Bark beetles and drought are creating havoc in California’s forested areas. Together they are a deadly combination. Millions of trees have died and the devastation continues.”  This quote is from the CalFire website.  This is a fabulous website with a wealth of information related to the bark beetle and the risk of wildfire.  There is information about the bark beetle, maps showing tree mortality, information on dead tree removal, ways to prevent bark beetle infestations in healthy trees, seasonal actions you can take, and more!  The tree mortality maps were from surveys done in 2015, but new trees are dying daily, many reaching into higher elevations.

If you have dead or dying trees on your property please remove them.  We need to keep Fish Camp safe by reducing our risk of wildfires and promoting tree health.
